After doing his MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, he joined Reliance as a co-CEO in 1983. With his very entry, he pioneered many financial innovations in Indian capital markets and henceforth was proclaimed as a supreme financial wizard. He has also held the post of Vice Chairman and Managing Director in Reliance Industries Limited. He was the man who led India into the international capital markets.

After the unfortunate death of his father and the bitter feud with his elder brother, Mukesh Ambani, this industrialist started off with his own Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group. Now he is the chairman of Reliance Capital, Reliance Communications and Chairman & Managing Director, Reliance Energy.

"It is hope in this wider sense which enabled my father to build, from scratch, one of India's largest modern enterprises. His was an undertaking powered by hard work, initiative, self-belief but, above all else, the capacity, as he would often say, "to dream with your eyes wide open".

Born as the second son of Dhirubhai Ambani on 4th June 1959, this endeavouring face for the "Made in India" tag is in line to be the Rupert Murdoch of India with fire, force and fortitude.

After his rift with his elder brother, this business tycoon has made it his point to appeal to the media with his power, prestige and personality. Though his nonchalant attitude may disguise the fire to bulldoze the whole nation with his regime, the sentimental guy, who watched his wife, Tina Munim’s, movies for a dozen times before proposing her in his gutsy style, cannot be passed off as just another billionaire. He’s charismatic and influential. No wonder the Bollywood ladies have a hard time staying away from him!
