Plotline
Ab tak Chappan follows the life of Sadhu Agashe (Nana Patekar), a cop fighting against the system .Agashe is notorious for killing criminals in ‘fake encounters’ instead of putting them behind bars. He and his team of 4 honest and competent officers, succeed in putting their plans into action till the time Police Commissioner Pradhan retires. After his retirement, Agashe becomes the victim of politics within the Mumbai Crime Department. The film focuses on his plight as a victim of the same system which he fought so strongly against.

While movies like Company, Satya and Vaastav concentrated on the underworld, it is Ab Tak Chappan that concentrated on the police force. Nana Patekar whose acting brilliance shines once again, play the part of Agashe to the‘t’. The dialogues and chemistry between the Underworld Don and Agashe is stunning. Shimit Amin, the director has dealt with the subject beautifully. No over the top scenes, no hysteria; blunt dialogues, impersonal and cold visuals. Everything adds up to a brilliant work. A masterpiece in itself.

The movie is cold and terse. If you expect your girl to watch this movie with you and not get upset, you expect a little too much. Not the regular masala movie, warn her before you watch it with her.
