The Beginning

Born on 6th May, 1961 to a former pageant queen and a Journalist and TV show host. He was a very poor student and briefly attended the Northern Kentucky University but failed to graduate. However, his crowd-pulling abilities could never be doubted. He was a favorite on the sets of his father’s shows.

Rise

Cycling for auditions, his first major role was in the drama series E/R, not to be confused with his heart-throbby doctor’s role in the much more famous ER later. He also worked in a supporting role in Roseanne, a construction worker in Baby Talk and a sexy detective in Sisters. His major breakthrough came in 1994, when he was offered the role of Dr. Doug Ross in the sitcom ER. Alongside, he appeared in movies such as From Dusk Till Dawn, One Fine Day, The Peacemaker, Batman and Robin. After he left ER, he became so successful in mainstream Hollywood that it would be apt to divide his career into ER and post-ER. What followed was a spate of hugely successful films such as Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, O Brother Where Art thou, the Ocean Series and the list goes on…
