The Blonde Bond

Name: Daniel Wroughton Craig

Age: 39

Country: England

Category: Films

Calling: Actor

The Beginning

Born on 2nd March, 1968 to a midshipman in the merchant navy and an art teacher Daniel Wroughton Craig played , to the shock and delight of skeptic critics and film audiences, both a rather vulnerable and a human James Bond in the hugely popular 21st Bond film ‘ Casino Royale’. At the age of 16 Craig joined the National Youth theatre. After doing some low-profile, artsy roles for the granddaddy of snobbery- The BBC- including bravely portraying nude for one of the films, Craig got his first mini-breakthrough featuring alongside Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft - The Tomb Raider. After that he appeared in Sam Mendes’s Road to Perdition and several other pheeka roles amongst which his performance as the brilliant Poet Ted Hughes in the critically-bashed Sylvia stands out.

Rise

Craig was destined to be another British heartthrob who couldn’t make it big - and I mean Hollywood-big. However getting the role wasn’t easy as comparisons- that too with the previous Bond studs- started leading to a world-wide controversy against this medium-height blondie. Things fell in place when several of the old Bonds campaigned in his favour but till the movie opened at the box-office it was ordained as the biggest disaster post 9/11. However, the critical reception was key in shaping up what could be the most popular Bond franchise post Sean Connery. As of now, the film ‘Casino Royale’ stands as the second most popular Bond movie ever

Power Play

Mr Bond owns two Yatches and plans to buy a super-deluxe car he used in the movie. He was also the only Bond to win several awards for…uhmmm…spilling his guts out. Guilt-trip for the skeptics? Thanks to his stint with BBC our colourless Mr Craig has also asked the film executives to revolutionise the franchise by filming a full-nude gay scene. The man is dating a hot chick and is virile enough to breed a stud-farm.
