It’s all about the well-groomed man and he isn’t afraid to step into a salon and ask for treatments that would have made him seem feminine a couple of years back. After all, you have a right to be pampered and look good, don’t you? Here are five treatments you must try out before you hit 35.

Facial

This cosmetic treatment, done once in six weeks, can do more for your face than you could have achieved in a lifetime with your bathing soap. A facial nourishes the skin to give you a clear and well-hydrated complexion by exfoliating dead skin cells. This involves a variety of skin treatments such as steam, masks, peels and massage that are great for cleansing, exfoliation and extractions. A facial is given by a licensed esthetician and you can get this done in a beauty salon or at a spa. Remember that there are a variety of facials that you can choose from that cater to every skin need. Special facials are good for those with sensitive skin, bio-lift facials include treatment that target dark circles under the eye and AHA (Alpha Hydroxyl Acid) facials are recommended for people who have pigmented skin, and are prone to wrinkling easily. There are lots more but don’t panic if you don’t know exactly what to choose. The esthetician will gladly run through the options as well as recommend a suitable facial for you.

Pedicure/Manicure
So you think it’s only meant for dainty fingers that clutch handbags and elegant feet slipped into delicate shoes? Wrong. The sandal season is here and you’ll have hesitantly display chipped toenails that were tucked in safe inside closed shoes for the winter. Also, remember, no woman would want callused hands that have bitten and dirty fingernails to touch her pampered skin.  Grooming is all about looking presentable and if two charming hands are doing all the dirty work for you, why not just relax and enjoy it. It’s also great for circulation and prevents foot ailments. Say bye to hard, dry knuckles and stinky feet and hello to baby soft toes and fingers.

Body wax

Oh, you can do it. It’s quick and easy but lasts for only 2-3 weeks. Just think – a couple of seconds of agony and you get a less-revolting you. If women go through such extremities of pain, why not please them for once for a change. You can get it done at a spa and the price varies with the amount of area you’re getting done.

Hair coloring
No we’re talking not about gray hair coverage; we’re talking about jazzing up your crowning glory with shades your mama didn’t endow you with. You might have great hair, but playing with a bit of color does wonders to your image. If you simply love a particular color then go for the permanent hair color treatment otherwise stick to the semi-permanent colors that easily wash off after a few washes. Rather than going for a complete makeover, stick to highlights that accentuate your look. Oh, and please, don’t opt to go blonde. It’s so un-cool.

Head massage

Instead of going straight for that haircut, take a little time out and ask your hair stylist to give you a good head massage. It’s not only stimulating but invigorating and is a great precursor to your haircut.

Other “must-do’s” that you wouldn’t want to miss to give yourself that well groomed feeling would be:

Straight-Razor shave

You might be dealing withdisposable razors,multi-edge or cartridge razors, and those fancy electric razors of various types, but it’s worth visiting your barber and getting a straight-razor shave. Think hot towels, blades to the jugular – it’s one close shave you’ll definitely enjoy. Straight-razor shaving is an art, so don’t try it at home if you’re a home-schooled amateur.

A proper haircut
Your might have grown up on your local barber’s stool but seriously are you really gung-ho with the way he gives you that comforting cut? A salon may seem a luxury but we suggest you give your wallet some slack and give a salon a try. If nothing else, you’ll be surrounded by great women instead of old men.
